Goodbye 29 Palms!

It has been a great two weeks, and I will be posting pictures of the kiddos on their bikes, at the water park, soccer and Bible camp soon! I am off to San Diego tonight until next Wed. and then whew! A much needed rest for the 4th of July weekend!! :) Stay tuned- photos are coming!

One more... BATMAN

So, with Toby's arrival comes lots of excitement and playing. At nap time, we are searching in vain for missing wii games.. so, Toby sneaked off to go and "play" while we tore the house apart. I turned around and there was Batman. He has had this cape and mask since he was 18 months old. It has been passed down from kiddo to kiddo, and I have replaced the elastic twice now in the mask. The kids love it. I was trying to not be obvious, and the window sooo need to be cleaned.. some are through the window, others, when I was "discovered" he let me take a few more (I was afraid he would take it off and think it was baby)

The Wild Things!

So, I am practicing and practicing, getting better. But, I try to not be obnoxious with the kids. I am forever taking their photos, look here, smile, stinky feet.. They roll their eyes and gnash their terrible teeth... usually!

What's the deal??

Toby's graduation

So, Larry was "hand carrying" the bags to Washington and didn't want to take the "new" camera. Hence, the photos were not good at all. It was in a gym (that lighting is tough even for the experienced photographer) but we got some of his buddy in school!

Of course his mouth is full of cake! It was very cute, and we have it on the video cam. I guess you have to pick and choose! We'll do better next time!

A Very FULL Week

So, I have mentioned that I am going to 29 Palms for 2 wks. There is a shortage of obstetrical providers, and I am going to "backfill" as the military calls it for 2 wks. Then I will head back to San Diego for the National AWHONN conference (3000 obstetrical/neonatal nurses) conference. So, my calendar has been very full. We also had Zack and Toby's graduation - plus Toby coming for the summer. Needless to say we were coming and going a lot!

Wed. Larry decided to take Zack with him to Washington to get Toby. So, these were there bags packed and ready to go. I was more nervous I think. I haven't been away from Zack in forever!! But they did great and Zack LOVED the plane ride. I think he talked non-stop for 5 hours.. Larry was more exhausted than he was!

Coconut Cake

So, we loooovvvveee the cooking channel. Larry usually has it on for background noise. Last year he kept saying over and over this cake looked sooooo good.. And, he loves coconut. Well, it's not really my thing, but for his birthday this year, I made it.. Needless to say it is divine. It is Paula Dean, so if you know who that is, don't count calories or watch your cholesterol. We were going to a BBQ post the famous mud run here (we are running post baby next year) and some how I got elected to make this cake.. (thanks Larry)... It was really good. The strawberries and blueberries were totally extra, but they are in season and are yuuummmmyyy!!!

Father's day gift early

So, we were looking for camera programs.. and instead.. Larry started shopping.. you gotta love the sales, and you have to love a deal... Emma and Zack dancing to the Tony music awards

And Larry's Father's Day gift.. we haven't bought a new tv in over 15 years.. our old one was 28 inches, and barely could support what we plugged into it.. a wii and cable!! :)

Zack's Graduation

So, Zack graduated from Pre K- not really but he did complete this year. Due to his age, they let him in early and he did great with all the bigger kids. He is so advanced with his letters, colors and numbers, but we can't put him in Kindergarten next year. He will just be 4 they require he be 5. So, he will do Pre K again but with kids his age.. He loved it this year and had a great teacher Ms. Stacy. It is very hard to photograph in a huge gym .. lens zooming helps but the flash and lighting are off.. So, hence my learning curve is still being seen. They did a Going on a Bear Hunt presentation which was soooo cute.. next time video camera!

Thursday night

Back blogging... it's been crazy this week. We are gearing up for Toby coming, me leaving for 3 wks, Bible camp, and soccer camp.. YIKES!!! We are also finishing swimming and cleaning for the summer. I get that bug, and then give it to Larry.. we end up cleaning everything.. Steam cleaners, vacuums, etc. This was our Thursday night. the kids (daycare included) helped make cookies for Zack's graduation from PreK

The cookies were frosted and the coffee was hot!! Whew! The kids did great though..
Emma took a break from cleaning to snuggle Xena. Our newest addition, a sweet boxer we adopted when her previous owner had to leave. She has been my walking partner for the last 3 wks and does not like the weekends (I try to sleep in a little and walk in the afternoons)...

Roasting Marshmellows

This is my attempt to blog with a collage. We roasted marshmallows over the weekend, and had a great time. The kids loved the chocolate graham crackers with the marshmallows. YUMM!! We did get nervous with the firepit, but it all worked out in the end!! Zack loves them burned, Emma, just wants to double fist!
