Sleep deprivation

I am not sure how I did this in the past.. Baby up all night with maybe an hour or 2 of sleeping in weird positions. How is it babies can keep you up all night and they are perky and happy the next day?? Meanwhile you are dragging and sucking down caffeine to stay alive??? Wow.... ??

Grandparents

My folks left yesterday to head back home to NJ. It was great to have them here for the last week. The kids loved having grandma and grandpa to play with and entertain them. Me, I was slow on my feet, so they really helped us keep them entertained and gave us both a break. I have no photos of me with my grandma, so I wanted to make sure the kids had lots of photos of them with their grandparents. Note to self, don't do photos on the last day.. it was 104 degrees! Yikes!! and, it was way to bright..

Grandma bought the cutest gardening stuff for Emma.. if you look at Zack his face is crestfallen. His cape was cool, but he liked the flowers.. Also, cause Emma looked so cute.. Emma and her flower He felt better after he got to dress up!

My parents have been here since Wed. and it has been very nice to have them here to help with the little ones. Zack and Emma loved playing with them and hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. I am going to take a few more photos this afternoon- but it is 100+ here in California (how is that possible in Sept??) so, we'll see what I get. Here are a few photos until then..

I have always been told, the more children you have the less photos you take.. I am trying to not be that "mom". So, I am snapping away when I can.. she is very cute!! :) We received beautiful flowers from the grandparents and from my friend MaryKay. They are still decorating our table and window sill. They were beautiful.

She has arrived!

So, baby Reilly is finally here. Those of you that like odd numbers...

9/13/09; at 1923 (or 723 pm) weight 7.13, 19 inches long...

On Sunday at 0630 in the morning my water broke. I happened to roll over much like Zack in bed and was like.. no way.. and yes way!! So, we got up and I started doing things around the house cause well, I am a midwife, and there were no contractions.. so I was being good and waiting. They kind of started around 0900 and I finally walked into the hospital around 0945 to get checked in and say hello! I was actually 3 cm!! Yeah! and got admitted. They started getting stronger and Dave my amazing Dr. came in around 1200 and was like.. ready for an epidural? I was now 4... I said well?? He goes we are really busy.. I said.. okay.. so we got that started.. very slow progress and I could really feel the contractions an hour post the epidural.. I got helped out by anesthesia with a "bolus" of meds and that totally helped... and then the contractions were cranking.. an hour later.. I was like.. holy cow?? What epidural?? I was really in pain, and anesthesia came in again... apparently, there was a huge pump malfunction... I was getting 0% medication.. So, I was in a lot of pain and anesthesia hooked me up again.. I got re-checked and thank goodness had a reason for pain.. 4 to 10 cm in 1 1/2 hours without an epidural.. :) He gave me 30 minutes to get comfortable and relax.. (thank you!!) and we pushed 9 times, and there she was.. Her birth was polar opposite Emma and Zack (his minus the water breaking).. it was amazing. Tonya and Dave were totally supportive, Reilly did great. She was pink and crying, and has taken to breastfeeding like a champ! :) Here are some photos. Yes, we are still waiting. We were hoping for a 9/9/09 baby.. But, alas, she is like her father.. stubborn. (more like me, but at this point I will blame him). Actually, I feel really good, so I shouldn't complain. Mild contractions now and then, sleeping well, she's moving all the time. Saw the doctor yesterday.. all is well. Just waiting for her to decide to come out. My folks arrive next Wed. I am scheduled to be induced that day... lets hope it doesn't come to that.. :) 41 wks! Yikes!

At the new park

I am working on a new computer with a new monitor that kind of messes up the photos a little. Not sure if I am digging it or not?? Hmm.. we'll see. But, I took these today playing with the camera. It is a new park down on the base by the lake. I did my morning walk, but it was a lot later than normal 10 vs 6 am.. and the dogs were dying by the time we got to the park. (and Larry walked them back.. so they did about 5 miles in all) they haven't moved all afternoon.
