one of my FAVORITE things
So, yesterday was a very, very, very busy day for me at work. I had a very early meeting and a late dinner I had to go to for work after work. That means very little time at home and not a lot of time with my kiddos. So, after a quick hugs and such before I left for dinner (down in LaJolla) I went. When I got home it was fairly late. I went and checked on everyone and went into Reilly's room. The best thing about her is her baby-ness. I don't know if that is a word, but that is all I can think of to explain it. To sit down, nurse her and hold her warm sleepy body to mine. Have her hand curl around my finger and push it against my heart. And, once she was full, the little burb, squrim and sigh with her head on my shoulder nestled into me. I swear I could stay like that for hours. That memory is one etched on my mind that has happened with all of our amazing children. Larry smiled when he found me and told me to come to bed (lots of late and early days around here lately) and he knew I was exhausted. I hugged her tight, kissed her sweet face and snuggled her back into her crib. I said thank you for all the amazing blessings I have been given and went to sleep. - I love being a mom.

My Weekend
So, many of you know that I have been teaching on Saturdays. Well, the semester is over! :) And, this weekend, Zack helped me make Reilly's baby food. It is way easy and took only a few hours. I am getting really good at it now. (my second attempt) I made it for Zack (ya know the first) But when Emma came, Gerber was perfectly fine. Reilly blows through that stuff like nothing. It is ridiculous. $$ So, we bought $10 worth of produce and made A LOT of food. We did yams, sweet potatoes, acorn squash, butternut squash, plums, bananas, mangoes, apples, pears, carrots and avocado. She loves it all. (great eater). Zack and Emma helped peel carrots. I remember vaguely doing this in school -hand eye coordination. They would die today if they gave your kid a peeler in school. But, they did great. Emma had some weird peeling techniques, but got the job done!

Super Nanny??
So, last weekend we get this letter informing us that Super Nanny is coming to a family on our street on Camp Pendleton!! (I can only imagine the red tape that took to do) The next day, at the entrance to our street (our culdesac) we noticed lots of "goings on". Huge trucks showed up, a huge RV, and lots of people moving about.. Now, I will say that the family that they were shooting sure could use the Super Nanny. And, I hope that she (Becky) gets lots of good information from her. She has recently adopted a lot of children from Africa and Russia and then her husband deployed. It is never easy to raise 4 children under the age of 6, but on your own for 14 months.. yikes!! Personally, my last boss at SDSU had the Super Nanny at her house and let's just say when I watched it, I would never have know Melissa was a Master's prepared woman. They make you look insane. It's like every awful moment your children acted up was caught on film. And, you look like the raging idiot and make people wonder why you ever thought to have children. Anyhow, the goings on were very interesting. Her car showed up yesterday and my camera came out. She has been here for about 10 days, and lots of people including Larry saw her. (I never did) I tried not to be all in their business, but I really wanted a picture of the licence plate. (I didn't get it) They are finishing taping today and the wires etc are being taken down. They did film last night for awhile. Lots of takes of the Nanny showing up.. does it make a difference that she has already been there for a week??

Backtracking...
okay- so this is a little cheating. I have taken the kids to Sears for the last 7 years. Really, since Toby was a baby. And, I have gotten amazing photos from them. But, having gotten into this, there is so much more you can do with this and edit them a lot better in my mind. I don't have a studio, but there were "certain" shots that I wanted to get of the kids and with certain props. So, in we went. The kids were really, really good. Reilly was tired and ready for nap and she barely hung in there. We did get some great shots. They even offered me a job *lol*- cause yes, I set up almost all the shots with my props.. But, he was great and did get some wonderful photos. So, this is showing the grandmas their Mother's Day gifts, which I am picking up today! (sorry I have been a little frazzled here! :)

Don't Stress the Small Stuff?
So, I have not blogged in awhile. My full intention was to stay on top of it this year. However, life well, sometimes it just creeps up on you. So, I am happy to say that I am finally back in front of the computer doing what I like to do. And, I will catch up tonight so I will be back dooring a few photos and things that have gone on the last two weeks.

So, that being said the biggest stressor, (on top of everything else) was our amazing tenant in 29 Palms was leaving. I don't know how landlords don't stress over this more. But, I am/was freaking out. So, I quickly posted it on military by owner and 29 Palms yard sales. We have like 6 people who want to look at it. WHEW! So, this weekend, we are going up and we are taking photos of the inside (what everyone wants) and we are going to show it to a few. So, I was freaking out like big time. Now, I feel really good about this. Sometimes we just have to look at the big picture. Who the heck wants to buy up there? They want to do their punishment time and get the hell out of dodge! :)
What is really interesting? These couches we don't have any more, and the office, well, that desk is also gone! Wow.. :) Totally different now. he he he he..

Article
So this is a great article (not because it is about me) but Autumn Johnson wrote it. It was an honor to have her think I would be an interesting topic. She is a great writer, and I cannot thank her enough for making me sound so great. And, I apologize in advance, the amazing photos were taken by Kristen Bons. I had hoped to get her recognized because she is such a great photographer.
