Pumpkin Carving

Solo parenting this weekend had been tough to say the least.. But, we are having fun! This is Reilly smiling and I quickly got the camera.. She is gabbing and cooing and laughs all the time. Pre pumpkin.. yes this is my first attempt with a tripod. As I was working on photo books for the kids, I find there are very few photos of me with them. (I hate having my photo taken). So, I tried to get the tripod working for me.. Hmmm?
Zack shocked? We're going to cut it open?? He was like seriously? He did put his hand in to get some of the "yucky, yucky stuff" but then left the rest to me.. Our final happy pumpkin.. no more scary stuff he said!

Mr. Octopus

So, at school, they were doing dress up costumes. Zack wanted to be an octopus. It was very cute to say the least..
Moving his arms like an octopus..
Emma ready for fall (so is mommy). She loves to hold the pumpkins. And how she says it is so cute!!

Photo of Reilly..

Is this not sweet?? She is totally smiling now. Not for Larry so much.. but she is a lot more smiley now.. especially when the kids are cooing and talking to her..

Busy Week....

This week was a crazy week. This is how I ended my day today. Zack is 4 tomorrow. Wow! Where does the time go?? So, this will be his b-day cake.. He is desperate to eat it... He wanted dinos for his birthday so, this is our theme.. wait until you see what we do tomorrow! :) We have used presents as a great bribe! He has been very nice to all his siblings this last week.. He is very excited that tomorrow on the calendar it is his day with a candle on it! (the only way we could explain when his day actually was)... Keeping with the theme, dino cookies for his class today. The dinos were tough to get on a stick. they were very fragile, but the kids loved them.. and yes, if you can see my mistake.. one of the dinos is flying upside down.. (thanks hubby for pointing that out at midnight last night)
My gift was a dino quilt. I have had the fabric forever, and if you look close, I think they look more like dragons.. Hey he is 4 only an adult would really notice.. :)They are corks I have collected the last year.. Being pregnant did not help this endeavor.. but, I saw it in a magazine and thought how freaking cute!! Finished product.. I still need to attach the Christmas bow, but there are little jingle bells in between each one.. Very cute for the upcoming holidays..I finished Reilly's cross stitch. Note to those crafters. Michaels is having a huge sale this Sunday 1600-2000. We are so there with our coupon to get this framed.. they are so killer with the cost. Geez! But now every kiddo has one.. :)

And, this is the other baby quilt I am quilting.. yes, my machine has been a humming!
A new bulletin board for my office. delivering toooo many babies. This is my third for all those awesome announcements!

photos of Reilly

I am still trying to find that photo for Reilly's announcements.. and for the Christmas cards.. ugh! Thank goodness it is only October! I still have some time.. Here are some that I took recently.. She loves the bath now. The top one was Emma holding her.

Bat Making!

This is what happens when you have time at home and get the magazines for the holidays.. The kids had a blast doing this. The down side.. they are not to play with.. Zack was disappointed. He wanted to fly his bats all over the place!!

House in 29 Palms

This last week we were trying to get back to our house in 29 Palms. We still have a placenta in our freezer and need to plant it with a rose bush/tree/bush... I know eww.. but, it is tradition none the less. While up there this last time, (Larry forgot the Placenta after we were 1/2 way there) I took pictures of the yard. My how things have grown in 5 years! The yard looks great. Our renter Ryan has friends staying there while he is deployed, and they have done a great job watering/gardening. (LOVE HIM!!) This was the house. Dad really wanted to see the Fig tree we planted for Zack (yes, his placenta is under it) :) The huge fig tree! Wow- placenta does a tree good!

Roses did really well, we lost 3 but out of 18 that isn't to shabby.

The front of the house. The flag out for Ryan! He's coming home soon! :)

Lots of activities

Well, I am working on my "to do" list. It is really hard with a newborn who constantly wants to nurse, and two little kids who want your attention when you aren't nursing. Let alone squeeze in a nap some where?? Yeah right! So, this was my last few days. I will show you my projects later this week.. The list is getting smaller..
Reilly and daddy trying to talk. She really is not a big fan of his. He doesn't have any milk, so she will only talk to him briefly before she wants her cow back..
This is Trex. He will be for Halloween any how. It is a Barny costume yes, but don't tell him that. He is having a dinosaur birthday next weekend, and he is going to be Trex for Halloween. So says the almost 4 year old!

None of these are photo shopped yet. I keep trying different poses to get one of Reilly for her birth announcement. I am not sure ....

Another pose....
Snoozing peacefully after a walk. Thank goodness for strollers and long walks. She does really well. Fill her up on boob juice, clean diaper and you are golden. Her not so liking the camera.. Hello I am actually sleeping go get some stuff done!!!

Lots of projects

So, I had/have a major "to do" list before I head back to work. This was one of them. I like to make cards, and I like to make them unique. Here were some I did for all those baby shower gifts (3 showers).. whew.. I was tired by the time I was done.. But, they look pretty cute I might say.

More decorating

So, with my pro team having an off weekend, I was allowed to do lots of projects on Sunday after church. This was one of them. I finished decorating outside (with Larry's help) and got the spiders up. The quilt on the upper right hung.. and below, these are our couch cushions recovered to look like pumpkins. The kids love them. They were really easy- we'll just see how long they last with Zack touching them, and wanting to play with them. :)

We went for our annual pumpkin picking in Fallbrook.. Needless to say Zack was like a dog with a bone about going and getting them picked. The sun was in their faces and it was nearly impossible to get a good photo. This was what I got..

We are VERY into decorating this year.. this is the front yard.. minus the witch, spiders and pumpkins.. It is very cute.. and the kids are having a blast..

New Look

So, I have been trying to find time with a cranky baby and two kids under the age of 4 at home (Zack's school has been cancelled all week) and about 3-5 hours of sleep at night to update and learn my new camera program and blog program.. Needless to say.. it's taken awhile. This is my first attempt..

Awful things you see on TV

So- note to self.. don't watch Dr. Oz at 2 am.. why? You might ask.. well when you are nursing a 3 wk old.. you tend to watch what is on tv.... This is what greeted me...
This is what lives in our mattress and in our pillows.. They feed on our dead skin, and then they of course have excrement, that fills our pillows and mattress.. you mattress in 10 yrs will double its weight due to this.. DISGUSTING!!! Yes- they are microsopic.. however. ... they are there.. I know they are there..... Soooo, I was totally grossed out.. needless to say I have heard of this before in nursing school. So, now I have dust mite spray.. and I have covers for my pillows.. yes you should have one for your bed.. mattress pad.. however, I have a standard king.. not California king.. (good luck getting that on the west coast) so, I used my spray and vacuumed my bed... So, my trauma, is now your trauma.. EWWW!! I can only imagine what my dad's favorite pillow has living in it. He loves his pillow! The last one, I threw out... I can only imagine what is living in it.. I won't mention the segment on what is on your tv remote.. (you can only imagine) I stopped watching after that.... yes, I recorded other things to watch for future reference.. :)
