Zack's Reward

We promised Zack that if he slept in his bed all week, we would go and ride horses on Sat. As promised, we took them Sat. am. It was a perfect morning. Not to hot, overcast, and cool. Emma freaked at first, but then relaxed and had a ball. She fed them carrot after carrot.. Zack, no way was he feeding them a carrot.. Emma quickly getting to the stables.. she was sooo excited!
Does he not look devious?? (can you also see the chunks where he cut his hair himself?? UGH!)
Post ride feeding her horse Harry carrots
NO FEAR!!
Zack on the trailEmma kind of nervous at first..
Emma finishing her ride
She wanted to go again!!! She giggled!!
Me playing with my new camera!!

You'll see her little fingers at the bottom.. we were like yikes!!! She could have cared less. She fed carrot after carrot..
saying goodbye..

NNNNOOOOOOO!!

Was the yelp that came out of me, when I turned to see Zack trimming his hair with the scissors.. I had just finished cutting Larry's hair, and dumbly left them on the table. He wanted a haircut as well.. Needless to say, it is very, very short, but short of shaving his head, there was little I could do to save it.. UGH!!! There are no photos at the time.. my trying to fix it, ran into bath time, ran into bed time..... I think daddy was more upset about Zack's trim!

Swimming Lessons

As promised, I have uploaded and am editing several photos from my amazing new camera. Thank goodness for how to books! :)

Emma started her first lessons.. not so excited but then loved it. Liked blowing bubbles more....
Zack, was like okay, but did not want to get his face wet until the end of the lesson.. he didn't feel that well either. He came home feeling like yuck.. and went right to sleep. I was impressed he made it through the lesson!

House of Illness

No- it wasn't the swine flu- no it wasn't the cold.. it was a 36 hour bug. And it was awful. 1/2 the hospital is now out with it. Emma had it all last week. Then Zack had it for an amazing 30 min. Then.. there was me.. Sat. night post smores and I stayed in the bathroom for the entire night. (okay maybe TMI). So, there are some photos to share of smores on Sat. night, but I have just gotten back to work, and have not uploaded them. I will do that tonight. The poor dog wants to go for a walk this am, and even I was like, girl, go to bed!

We did manage to salvage Monday and visit our dear friend Melinda in 29 Palms. It was great to see her and hang out for a very hot afternoon- You forget how how that desert can get in the summer. UGH!! :)

I promise more photos tonight. Let me catch up! Whew..

PS.. the kids start swim lessons today.. I think there will be lots to share!

My 1/2 week off productivity

So, I took 1/2 a week of leave. (vacation) The next few months are packed with things to do.. I am not sure how we will get everything done, but we always manage.. here are a few of the things we got done.. Cleaned the trailer and got ready for the 4 weeks it will be up in 29 Palms!! A little light reading for my new Camera!! Thank you BONUS!!

Snuggle with Emma post nap!! I kept saying no to make her smile.. She is so hard to get to smile... and she giggled harder.. I LOVE it when she first wakes up.. she is a snuggle bunny!!! Anyone ever been to the Ob/Gyn knows those stirrups are not comfortable.. so I worked on fuzzy ones for our fundraiser for AWHONN. We are selling them at our National conference.

The "new" babies room... Gotta love ebay.. $50.00

Wall hanging that came with it..

The quilt and the crib back together as one.. yes, I will hang the quilt.. it's way to heavy to use

Zack got a haircut.. those that remember Larry's first haircut by me.. this came with a dvd, instructions, and lots of guards.. It looks awesome if I do say so myself.. Even Larry let me practice on him.. the results are no where near as severe as the first time.. he actually said I did a great job!!

A quilt top for the fundraiser as well.. Coffee theme.. you know those Nurses.. we love our coffee.

The theme of the conference is caring from the heart.. (something like that) this is the other quilt top.. still need to be quilted, but put together!

The process and strips of the quilt..
Zack wants to learn the "body parts" so off to A+ teaching supplies.. so far he is really into the brain, tongue and stomach.. (not tummy)
Next we will be working on the bones....

playing hide and seek in the toy box!

Cake anyone??

Coconut Cake.....
So, maybe it is being pregnant? Maybe it is that I am at home on leave (vacation for those non military this week) and I had time?? We love the cooking channel. And, although she is not my favorite, Paula Dean makes an amazing Coconut cake. The longer it sits, the better it gets.. Even my kids ate it (they are such picky eaters)...

Emma's new room

Emma's new bed- Zack demanded to sleep in it with her (that didn't happen) but he likes it..

Emma pretending to sleep Cubby space beneath really cool for storage- they play hide and seek Final product, new linen (daddy picked it out.. stays with her purple theme.. but more big girl).
Multiple pieces... $100 bargain find for a $400 dollar bed! Dismantling the crib of course Zack had to help.. Emma and I supervised... Crib getting ready to move down to the next baby!!

So, with the last one on the way, we decided to move Emma from the toddler bed (the crib converts into) Into a bigger bed. So, you know me.. good old garage sale shopping I went.. and I found it!!!

We were excited, cause at first we thought, she couldn't climb out. If you read the blog and saw the last posting, you'll see she figured it out... two big brothers.. she's going to give them a run for their money... (go girl!!)

How does this happen??

Normally, I am the first one up. I cannot work out at lunch (charts to catch up on, labs to order, patients to call), and by afternoon.. seeing patients, listening to women all day.. I am exhausted.. I have to get home, play with kids, do dinner, baths, clean up, books, etc... So, it's either 0600 or 0530 depending on what time I have to be at work. I hit the pavement for my 2 miles.. and then get home (now pregnant, it is a speed walk). But, this am.. I was getting the boot a little to early even for me.. I roll over and realize.. everyone is in the bed.. I the 23 wk pregnant lady is on the edge with a sliver of bed to sleep on... what the heck is that???

Emma, Zack and Daddy!!! UGH!
We even bought a regular king.. more width... I still got booted. The new baby better be tough! She is going to get all the space soon!!! :0

My Class Spring 2009

As you will see, I am not in this photo. After a week of planning nurses week, feeding 100+ Nurses at 5 am a hot meal, helping the ice cream social, catching a cold, and being 23 wks pregnant, I was kind of done by Sat. We usually try to go out to lunch on the last day for fun. I was too whipped to make it, but sent my support and congrats to another semester down! This was a great class, Peter, Heather, Christine, Alan, April, Rashida, Jenni, Zeb, Magda and us. They are very bright and a lot of fun. They are our future nurses, let's hope Al and I taught them a little about Obstetrics!
