Playing Catch up

Okay- so these last few weeks have been a little crazy. I have been on call quite a bit, and so I have been really beat. Today, we tried to just chill, and it was great. I got to catch up on some reading (thank you Andrew for my photography books) and to CLEAN my house! So, I was able to unload some photos we took at the dog park.. yes this picture is not the best.. a new little point and shoot. I can't seem to get a decent photo at all. Not sure what the deal is. Very frustrating. errrr...
Zack actually did this photo. I took my small new point and shoot (don't think I like it as much as my kodak that died recently).. :( But, he had a blast snapping away photos.. mainly of his finger and shoes.. but, this one I thought was pretty cool..

My Little Chefs

So, I have a lot of friends that are deployed. The main thing, EVERYONE wants.. baked goods. So, we baked some more of those yummy cookies (see previous blog). Well, it was very warm, and the kids had been playing outside in the water.. hence, Emma's state of dress. So, they came in to wash and help me bake cookies. More like lick the bowls... (don't worry.. I am insane about them not helping by licking their fingers as we make the cookies.. :) I PROMISE!)
Emma LOVES to help

Zack loves to be a goofball...

St Patty's Day

So, the cabbage was awful (not sure why as it usually comes out great) but the cornbeef was yummy!! Hope you all didn't get pinched!

Medication- child proofing or adult proofing?

So, really? This is just a box of Claritin. If you know me, and have talked to me recently, I have had some time of allergic reaction to "something". My left eye was on fire last Thursday. I wanted nothing more than to take off my eyelids and put them into ice water. Not the eyeball, but the eye lid. And thankfully, I work at a hospital with great people who hooked me up with medication. Yes, I went to the eye doctor. Yes, I threw away my make up and bought new stuff. No, it is not pink eye. To the point? you might ask. I appreciate the child proofing, and in my house that is key. However, it has really become adult proof. This took me a good 5 min to get into. (and yes, I am a woman, I followed the directions, bend at corner, etc.) My dad now cuts his with scissors and puts them into a bottle. At first, I thought he was nuts. But wow, I totally appreciate that now. WOW! Maybe that is why there are pictures of scissors on them? Because they know there is no way in heck you are going to get to this in short order. Thankfully, this is not heart medication. I would be in deep trouble if that were the case.

Great weekend

I am a true east coaster. Everyone this weekend was complaining about the rain, and I was excited. It was my first weekend off (not teaching) and I was ready to do things at the house. I was also fighting a HORRIBLE EYE infection (I spared you those photos) and I was waiting for my meds to kick in. Just imagine itching your eyelids so badly. No idea from what, but the drugs are finally working! So, it was my weekend to get my to do list done. And I did a lot of it. My mom's quilt!! FINISHED!! I blogged it awhile ago, and now it is finished. Ready for the bed this Christmas season .. whew.. it was a monster king and I am glad to be done with it.
I did not photo shop these at all so you could see the skies. The storm/rain was coming (yes I walked Xena early)
After the rain.. the thing was almost in our backyard! It lasted only a few minutes but it was so cool.. Larry showed Zack and when Zack asked who made it Larry said "God". Zack's response..
"wow he is really cool!"..

Care packages for our friends who are deployed. This did not help my weight watchers at all. They are so good.. And there was no chocolate.. I gave that up for lent.. Let me tell you I don't know why. It's everywhere this time of year. UGH.. But it does have white chocolate.. and that is not really chocolate. I asked 12 women and they all agreed. If you don't I don't want to hear your opinion (sorry.. I ate a few.. lol)

Happy Birthday Grandpa

So, my dad had his birthday this weekend. The kids and I were trying to come up with a gift for him. (he is the hardest in the family to buy for) and they suggested pictures. So, with two big birthday this month (my mom's as well later this month) that is what we did. Our amazing photographer Kristen took some great shots of the kiddos. www.kristenbonsblog.com

First cereal

I have been a bad blogger lately. I took a whole bunch of photos raw. Of course, you would think I would know better.. no- newbie mistake. But I am trying to catch up. This past week, we tried rice cereal out on Reilly. She liked it.. she is now sleeping through the night as well. Hates taking naps during the day, but crashes at night. Yes, great, but I am FULL of milk by the time I need to get her up before I walk the dog in the am.. OUCH! :)

Quinn's birthday

So a great time was had. The theme? Lady and the Tramp. I wasn't to sure about the cake. I had no mold, so this is all "freehand" off the internet. It was ok. It did turn their tongues black! :)
The birthday girl

Blow out those candles!

Reilly chilling

Emma showing her black tongue- yes she is also sunburned. I am not sure how my sister and I both missed her face with the suntan lotion. It didn't help that she sat eating her lunch with the sun on her.. poor baby. it was gone by morning. whew. (bad mom)
Quinn did put a hurt on dinner according to her mom. My kids LOVED the meatballs (yes they were really turkey)

The cake.. it's okay. At least she knew what it was! :)
Finally! Presents!!

Reilly Bouncing

Okay, this is to commical for words. She is hilarious when she is in this bouncer. We never had a bouncer for Zack and Emma (shocking I know). This one was given to us by a friend for Reilly. (She was shocked we didn't have one either). And now, I can't imagine not having one. She bounces and has a blast. If she can see the kids or us doing stuff, she is happy as a clam. In the morning, she is a bouncing fool. I keep thinking she is going to bounce out of this thing, but she doesn't.
